Demo Reel 2014

There was some very fun projects during the last year, I updated my reel with a bunch of my favorites from Robocop. I also did a first previs contract, I can't use any of that stuff but it was such a cool experience. I could play with cameras, composition, staging... it was very interesting.

New demo reel

Hello folks!

here is my new demo-reel. I've been working on nice stuff last year!

Since I finished school, most of the project I have worked on was TV show about dinosaurs. It seems that there is always something to say about them right? But lately things had changed and I had the chance to work on wonderful projects. I learned so much in the past few months it was so exciting.

After two years doing mostly layout and previs, I finally got the chance to animate and I really enjoy it! First I animated snakes witch was a very technical challenge. Apparently I did well because then I was assign on a cartoon TV show. Cartoon animation is so different then all the realistic show that I used to work on, but I always love to try new things and do something different. 

My last major project was Underworld 4, which was may be not a great movie, but I have to say it was very exciting for me since it was my first feature film. I mainly did some matchmoving for the legs replacement and some props like the whip. But at the end I had the opportunity to animate full creature for some shots and it was so much fun.

Well!

At the beginning of 2010, I wish you all a very happy new year!
As I said about myself, I want to travel around the world, and so I will. Next week I am flying to Peru and Bolivia for 5 weeks. With my backpack, my camera and my fresh eyes I will fill my head with wonderfull souvenirs. But before I go, I wanted to give you a little candy...

Dino Body has become Clash of the dinosaurs and it has been on TV in the United States a little before Christmas. Discovery Chanel posted 15 shorts of this documentary on this link:

Dino Body

Hi everyone!

well, I look at my blog and... wow it's been a while since my last post!
But I have a pretty good reason.
For the last 9 months I've been working on a dinosaurs documentary as I said before. But in fact, it has been 2 projects back to back for the same client, Discovery Channel. So we didn't have much time between both of them.

The team worked really hard on both shows. I was mainly lighting on the first one, but on the second project I did many things. I worked for the layout department as well as FX and some previs animation. Now, at the end of the shows I am back to the lighting department.

I've been waiting for a while to show you some of my work. Finally Discovery put some footage on the net. So here is the first trailers of Dino Body:

New job!

I have been working to Mokko Studio for a month by now.
I am lighting a show about dinosaurs for Discovery Chanel and I am learning a lot.
We use Maya 2009 and there is some new stuff there that are quite interesting.

I am still continuing another contract part time at home.
For this one i am doing the lipsync and facial animation for kids show.

All this is keeping me quite busy.

Modeling Bibo

He has no face for now because I am still thinking about it.

First XSI animation

Well, I have just added a new card up my sleeve by learning XSI.
Here is my first animation.

There is not much details on it, but it is only the second sculpture I made in my life.

I have already start the modeling. I plan to post every step of the 3D creation of this creature.

Rovio

It has been a long time I know.

But here is my first job! yeah!

It was a short contract I did in june of 3 weeks at Twist Image. It's a web site company in Montreal, but each pictures or movies about rovio is in 3D. rovio is a sweet little robot you can meet at http://www.meetrovio.com/. The website has just been launch!

When I got there, the modeling, textures and lighting were already done by my first coworker Patrice Desrosiers (thanks pal!). All I did was some little touch up and all the animation.

It's not a lot by it was fun... and was my first job yeah!!!

Tadam!

Finaly, finaly, there is my short movie. All this starts one year ago, and this is what came up.
It was one year of intense suffering but also full of memorable moments.

I did everything from writing the script to doing the final render: modeling, texturing, stretch and squash rigging, animation, lighting, FX, ncloth simulation, rendering, compositing...
The only thing I didn't do was music and sound effects. These were done by a great man Louis Sédillot. Thank you very much!

Big opening

Hello everyone,

here is my first step for the creation of my blog.
I will post every step of my progress in 3D or anything reporting to it, from school projects to work projects and some of my good personal work.

I hope this is a beginning of a long story.
